Camino Levante

Day 2 Xativa 33k

Today’s walk resembled yesterday’s inasmuch as it was on quiet country roads and through more satellite towns stretching out from Valencia. Alzira and Carcaixent are reached early on for a refreshment stop before walking through hundreds of citrus groves and reaching Manuel a final town on the trail. The large city of Xativa is on a fertile plain snug against the base of Monte Vernessa and is split in two by the river Albeida. It is a impressive destination with a massive basilica perched high above the city. The albergue is a touristic but adequate and there are plenty of shops and bars for the pilgrims needs
