Portugués DVD Preview
The Camino Portuguése is 625 km long from its starting point at Lisbon Cathedral to the Cathedral at Santiago. The route is in three stages, Lisbon to Porto, 380km, Porto to the Spanish border, 120 km, and 110 km from Tui to Santiago. Until 2009, the Portuguese sections of this walk were poorly way-marked, but a Lisbon-based Camino group has taken on the task of rectifying this and the whole route is now well-signed.
Except for a few small hills, the route is flat. For the first few days, it follows the Tejo River through agricultural lands. Unfortunately, there is a lot of waking on roads or hard surfaces, especially in Portugal and you must take care when using main roads.
